About Us

Suryodaya Ashram is one of the recently started mission centre of the diocese of Vasai in Mokhada Taluka of Thane District. Mokhada is about 130 k. m. from Vasai and about 170 k. m. from Mumbai. Yet it has remained by enlarge a very backward taluka in all its aspects. It is predominantly tribal taluka lacking in basic infrastructure, basic health and educational facilities.Mokhada is one of the talukas in a Thane District of Maharashtra.

    'Mahila Din' Celebration

  • Suryodaya Ashram Trust, Mokhada celebrated its women’s day on 14th March 2016, we have about 145 women SHG, Self Help Group. This is the 3rd annual women day celebrated. The local animators worked very hard and got nearly 600 women from 20 villages we work.

  • Bharti Gode, from Mokhada, a 1 1th standard girl who won gold medal from in state of Maharashtra was felicitated , she was given a gift and a shawl and shrefal(Coconut).

  • Wing foundation’s Falguni Rajput was chief guest who encouraged women to be active and get involved in lives of suffering women. Suman Bhoye a local activist inspired the women not to be just spectators but active in villages especially those suffering from drunkard husband.

  • In three villages, women have decided not to distil or sale alcohol or not allow anyone to take drink.

  • Fr Francis Dabre , Director and Fr Micheal Tuscano, tool lot of trouble to make this program a success, Jairam Nagde our social educator was Mater of ceremony.


  • 'Children Day' Celebration

  • Children day was held on 20th December 2015, there were about 500 children who attended the program, we have special remedial classes in the villages, we have ten women working in the remote villages, the local school teachers have appreciated our special study classes. Even parents have liked this classes, we have about four hundred children in these remote villages.
